Kantika di Tera (Land Song)

Materials and Process: Land Song was created using 100 unfired, hand-built clay globular flutes made through social collaboration with the Curaçao community; regional clay gathered from the land and processed onsite into a refined terra sigillata slip; locally sourced banana fiber gifted by the social design initiative Farm to Crafts; and an original sound composition by ‘io Kahoku Lahuikoa Luger (the artist’s son), incorporating bird calls, flute sounds and field recordings gathered throughout the island.
